The Twelve Tables were written by the Decemviri Consulari Imperio Legibus Scribundis,(the 10 Consuls) who were given unprecedented powers to draft the laws of the young Republic.
The Code of Hammurabi
Hammurabi is now synonymous with his code of laws, referred to as the Code of Hammurabi. Five columns of the stele have been erased, but it is thought the total number of legal judgments contained on it would have been 285.
