In a tussle between 2 octogenerian husband and wife, Singapore’s Court of Appeal ruled that the husband is entitled to a 85% interest in their matrimonial home.
The house at Chancery Lane is estimated to be worth S$20 million and is registered in the name of the wife. Notwithstanding this, Singapore’s Apex Court ruled that the husband had an interest in the home because he had contributed substantially to the acquisition of the house back in 1983.
The judgment is the last judgment written by Judge of Appeal, Justice V K Rajah before moving on to become the Attorney-General of Singapore.
